Taliban enjoy the financial cliff and congratulate themselves on 2012

Summary: Two messages on the Taliban official website see their views on the US financial situation and a strong focus on military victories.  Little evidence of a softer or more creative line in support of dialogue

The Taliban seem to be enjoying the US financial cliff, to the extent that their understanding of international finances allow them:

Taliban flagAmerica is heading towards decline and demolition!!

It seems that the United State of America is quickly heading towards her sole and binding destiny. The America which had the pride of being the largest economic power of the world, has been enclosed in a huge economic intricacy because of the abhorrent politics of the existing incompetent authorities to the extent that if she tries to get the head out of it then her legs are bound in the shackles of debt and if she gets the legs out of it then her neck is caught in the noose. The Democrats and the Republicans, who equally bears the responsibility of the American economic downfall rather the extreme decline, last night agreed upon a momentary bill and inhaled artificial breath in the carcass of the Obama’s government.

The economic experts are wondering that how did this colossal economic power collapsed down. The debts went up to more than 16 trillion dollars (16 thousand billion); and if this debt is divided by the American people, we reach to the conclusion the an average four member American family is indebted more than three hundred thousand (300,000) US dollars; in such a way that this amount was less than 7 trillion dollars in the year 2000 and the economy was growing. The question is that how possibly everything overturned in such a short span of time and the great power of the world is on the verge of collapse and is waiting to fall into the ditch of eternal decline!!!

Note also here an interview with a Taliban spokesman, Zabiullah Mujahid, in which he gives his round up of Taliban achievements in 2012.  Given that that this is in their English language section, there is still notable a distinct lack of discussion of political and economic discourse and not a hint of angles on talks/dialogue.  The emphasis is still very much on military achievement and still a hard line being pumped out.  Actually, out of interest, the Taliban make use, perhaps for the time, of bullet points/key judegements:

Taliban flag—-If the invaders intend to prolong the invasion for a hundred years, we have the intention and courage to combat them even for that protracted period.

—–This year we have made the enemy realize by our strong and dreadful attacks that none of their sheltered barracks and protective measures can save them from our fatal strikes.

—–Mujahidin have made large and intricate infiltration in the enemy’s set up by different ways.
